Grand Prix set for another summer tour in the Maritimes

Bobby Sharpe returns from Alberta for the Grand Prix tour this summer, working alongside Rene Dupree.

With summer here, it's time to announce another tour for Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling in the Canadian Maritime provinces.
Rene Dupree, one of the leading gaijins wrestling in Japan, working for the Wrestle-1 promotion, is once again spearheading the tour.
While on tour in Japan, Dupree told SLAM! Wrestling what fans can expect this year.
"Fans can expect they'll be getting their money's worth for their price of admission," he said, promising "passionate wrestlers living their dreams."
Names booked for the tour include Dupree, Yasufumi Nakanoue, the Cuban Assassin, Bobby Sharpe, and Jeremy Prophet.
Naturally, there are a lot of traditional stops from previous tours of Atlantic Grand Prix, which dates back to the 1970s when his father, Emile, ran the territory -- which was always a favourite for the wrestlers because of the short drives, wonderful weather and Maritime hospitality.

Dupree concedes that he learned quite a bit from running a very similar tour last year.
"I learned that setting up the ring, tearing it down, booking the show, doing the ring announcing and wrestling 20-30 minutes every night, seven nights a week, will drive you insane," he chuckled.

Promising "Tomorrow's Superstars Today," Dupree is certainly eager to get Atlantic Grand Prix Wrestling out of the gate for another season.
